I will present my final project of OkCupid as an emerging site of young adult social connections. I will explain how different users utilize the site in different ways whether for informal professional connections, friendship, or dating. Explore which questions the website asks of users, I will investigate whether it is an accurate representation of the person. Finally, I will show some graphs and data compiled by a site called "OkTrends" in order to demonstrate how the information collected from these sites can be used by social scientists.

Pinterest is the name of my game. It is a social networking service offered on the web, meaning it connects people around the world through their shared interests and tastes. On Pinterest, you can create "boards" (topic-based folders), upload "pins" (images from the web or your computer) to your boards, and follow other users' boards to gain inspiration. It is great for organizing/sharing one's images, planning for events, and saving recipes.

For my project I am going to present to the class what Pandora Internet Radio is. Pandora is an online music player that allows the user to choose a “radio station”, whether it be a decade, a specific artist, or a genre of music. I expect that many class members will be familiar with Pandora, so I will focus a lot of my presentation on the complexities of the Music Genome Project. I will use a brief PowerPoint presentation to highlight some key facts, but I will also show the class my personal Pandora station and how I customized it to my tastes.

I will be doing a presentation on Prezi. I will use Prezi to show the different pictures. I want to make it so its a journey and to start from a boring power point presentation, to a simple Prezi, a more complex Prezi, then finally to a thorough intricate Prezi to show how much a student can do with this technology for their presentations.

My final project will by on QuikMaps, an app for Google maps. Every history teacher in the world spends hours looking for a map that shows their students the information they need without a bunch of extra information that confuses them. On Quikmaps you can draw on Google maps in real time, creating the map you need with only the information you want. So cool!

I am presenting about the Web 2.0 App called PowToon. I will explain what makes PowToon an effective and easy presentation program while illustrating the pros and cons of it. Finally, I will discuss whether PowToon is really Web 2.0 program and whether it truly has the educational benefits that it claims to have. The medium that I will use is the PowToon software itself. Instead of pre-narrating the presentation, however, I will present in person.

I hope to explain how this social networking digital world can be used by different users in businesses and education. I will plan to create a digital classroom on Second Life to show its uses and benefits for long distance education.

My final project will be on Qwiki. Qwiki is a multimedia search engine that uses a combination of Google, Youtube, and Wikipedia to present information to users. The idea behind this search engine is to present information in an interactive and engaging way. My presentation will include a step-by-step demonstration of how to use Qwiki. I will also have a brief powerpoint presentation where I will discuss how students can benefit from using this site for academic purposes, and finally, how students can create their own Qwiki.
